Duketon
Nickel, Copper, Gold and Platinum Group Elements
Duketon 64%, Falcon 20%, Regis 16%
The two tenements, covering a large area of about 100 square km, are located directly south of Collurabbie, along the same greenstone belt, as shown in Figure 1 in the Collurabbie section. They have been explored by Newmont for several years with sporadic anomalous gold results, mostly from air core drilling. In the latter years work has since focused on Ni-Cu-PGE.
Exploration has focused on a number of areas along the eastern and western ultramafics within the joint venture. Major works have included EM surveys, regional Aircore drilling and RC/diamond drill testing. Results to date have seen generally sporadic low grades, or have been indicative of lateritic nickel enrichment. However, potential still exists within the project for the discovery of extensions to the stratigraphy seen to the north at the Collurabbie JV (FCN/BHPB), which hosts the high grade Ni/Cu/PGE mineralisation at Olympia.
